APICO Accessibility

General Settings and Saving

  • Access Settings and Pause menu at any time during gameplay.

  • Set autosaving to occur at intervals of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or none at all

  • Manually save the game at will through the pause menu

Game Screen Settings

  • Option to play in windowed mode

Gameplay and Difficulty

  • Toggle “Walk through trees” option to move freely through the forests without being stopped by trees.

  • Toggle “Remove extra hybrid mutation %chance” to remove some of the waiting and RNG from breeding bees. It allows bees to mutate during every queen cycle.

  • Toggle “Remove butterfly spawn %chance” to remove the RNG from butterfly spawns on flowers.

  • Toggle “Remove solitary bee spawn %chance” to remove the RNG from solitary bee spawns in hotels.

Input and Button Presses

  • PC - Mouse and keyboard and partial gamepad controller support

  • Invert scrolling for books with “Inverse Scroll” option

  • Invert scrolling on hotbars with “Inverse Hotbar” option

  • Automatically move mechanisms like the sawhorse or frame uncapper with the “Mechanisms Move Automatically” option

  • Always display tooltips without a button hold with the Always Expand Tooltips option

  • No quick time events

Tutorials

  • On-demand tutorials for gameplay and systems

  • Tutorial guidebook contains supporting GIFs and pictures

  • Tooltips for highlighted items are available through a button hold. Use Always Expand Tooltips option to remove button hold.

Audio Accessibility

  • Separately adjust audio channels for:

    • Music

    • Sound effects

  • Toggle off all “buzzing” sounds

Visual Accessibility

  • Make the background of your inventory pink, so your items will stand out as high contrast with the “High contrast slots” option

  • Override recommended zoom level and play zoomed into your character

Text and Reading

  • All text is in a readable, sans-serif typeface

  • Make the text in tooltips and tutorial guides high contrast with the “High contrast text” toggle option

Subtitles and Dialogue

  • Subtitles Indicate Speaker

On-Screen Movement and Visual Effects

  • Steady camera

Heads-up Display

  • Allow only one (1) menu open at a time with “Focus Mode”

  • View control mapping during play
